Feedback is an important aspect of learning. When quizzing your learners using a question-based component, explaining why an answer is correct will reinforce your course's learning outcomes. Here's how to set it up:
Tip For more information on setting up an assessment, see our guide on How to set up a basic assessment.
Add the Tutor extension
- Create a course.
- In the Left hand menu, click “Extensions”. Click “Add” next to the “Tutor” extension.
- Click “Back to course structure”.
Set up the components
- Navigate to the page that contains question components that you wish to include feedback on.
- On the course page, edit a question-type component.
- Under "Properties", tick "Display Feedback".
- Under "Feedback", include a feedback title if you wish. Leave this field blank to use the component's title instead.
- Under "Correct" and "Incorrect Final", include the text for your feedback.
- If your question-type component allows for multiple attempts, you may also want to include different feedback messages for attempts that are either "Incorrect not final", "Partly correct final", or "Partly correct not final". Leaving the field(s) blank will ensure that the corresponding feedback field is not used.
- Click "Save" to save changes.
- Repeat these steps for any question-type components in the course that you wish to include feedback on.
Check the feedback
Ensure that the feedback appears as expected by previewing the course.
